Imagine that you are in the most beautiful rooms of the Palace of Versailles, in order to buy a piece of cheese or some yogurt. Perhaps this is the feeling that the shopper has when entering «Fonds Mulcray», the most beautiful dairy store in the world, and the shop is located in Dresden, which is one of the most famous tourist attractions In the German city, it is visited by more than 500 thousand tourists every year.

This is unusual for a dairy store, but again this is no ordinary dairy store, it has a palatial vibe, although some say it looks much better than most palace interiors.

The place was completely decorated with ceramic tiles, and hand-painted in a neo-Renaissance style by local artists, and in 1998 "Fonds Mulcray" was named "the most beautiful dairy store in the world", by the "Guinness Book" of Records.

The shop first opened in 1879, when a German farmer, Paul Fond, moved from Reinholshine to Dresden, with his six cows and an equal number of pigs.

He set up a small dairy company, and passers-by could see how the cows were milked and milk was prepared for sale, and the following year Paul's brother, actor Frederick Pfund, joined the company and together they founded a dairy factory.

The beautiful dairy store "Fonds Mulkrai", which is beautiful in its present form, was built in 1891 and decorated with ceramic tiles made by one of the oldest ceramic companies in Germany.

Miraculously, the store escaped the bombing of WWII and continued operating until 1978, and in 1995 the dairy shop opened its doors again.
