Operation "Warp speed" continues at full speed.

American health authorities have asked states to prepare the large-scale distribution of a vaccine against the coronavirus by early November, before the presidential election, according to documents obtained by several American media.

The American Centers for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC) "urgently demand" that states do what is necessary so that distribution centers for a future vaccine can be "fully operational by November 1, 2020," a wrote their director Robert Redfield, in a letter cited by the

Wall Street Journal

and sent to states last week.

CDC Director Redfield sent a letter to governors "urgently" requesting them to expedite applications for vaccine distribution facilities and waive requirements that would prevent them "from becoming fully operational" by November 1, @CBSNews confirms.

Before the end of phase 3

In recent days, several officials, including epidemiologist Anthony Fauci and FDA (Food and Drug administration) boss Stephen Hahn, have indicated that they will not rule out a limited distribution of a vaccine before the end of the phase 3, if the results prove to be very promising.

According to the letter, the first to receive a vaccine would be healthcare workers, front-line workers and populations at risk (the elderly, minorities and prisoners).

Donald Trump, who has promised a vaccine before the end of the year and hopes to benefit from it in the election, does not have the power to approve distribution to the population.

It's the FDA that decides, and top official Peter Marks recently vowed he would step down rather than bow to pressure if he feels Americans' safety is threatened.
