From 1 September, the old tariffs apply.

Instead of paying one kroner per hour for the first two hours at, for example, the municipality's car park at S: t Erikstorg, SEK 20 per hour applies, and then an even higher hourly rate.

It was in April that the municipality's crisis management committee decided to support trade in the city center by almost lowering the parking fee to zero kronor for the first hours.

But it has cost - about four million kroner a month.

Instead, the municipality chooses to facilitate outdoor dining, by holding back on the land rent.

Concerns among traders

Lisa Thörn, CEO of Uppsala Citysamverkan, would have liked to see a continuation of cheap car parking on the municipality's land.

- Trade has not recovered, and there is concern about what will happen this autumn.

People will not move in the center as naturally as during the summer, says Lisa Thörn.

She admits that many traders are having a very tough time.

- Bergmans has been in Uppsala for over 90 years, but the question is how long, says Urban Sand who runs the traditional clothing store on Drottninggatan.
