Xinhua News Agency, Colombo, September 2 (Reporter Tang Lu) Vera Sinha, who has just been appointed as the general secretary of the Sri Lanka Communist Party, said in an exclusive interview with Xinhua News Agency on the 1st that the new crown epidemic has exposed the barbarism of neoliberal economic policies.

Vilasingha said that some of the countries with high deaths from the new crown pneumonia happen to be those that promote neoliberalism. Neoliberalism has turned the health care industry into a profitable industry, which is no longer a service.

Vilasingha said that thanks to their own strong public medical systems, countries such as China, Cuba and Sri Lanka are able to contain the new crown epidemic.

But while some wealthier countries inject billions of dollars in government funds into the private sector, they have passed the burden on to the working class.

Vilasingha said that the Communist Party of Sri Lanka will launch a plan to recruit more party members into the organization, and plans to play an active role in promoting the establishment of brotherhood with the Communist Party of China.

"China's development is encouraging. China is about to achieve the goal of eradicating absolute poverty. This will be the achievement of all mankind. A strong China will have a positive impact on the international communist movement."
