The telephone talks were held for about 20 minutes after 10:00 am after Prime Minister Abe's resignation was announced.
Among them, Prime Minister Abe explained his resignation and said, "It was a great achievement that we were able to agree with Prime Minister Trudeau to work together on the implementation of the "Free and Open Indo-Pacific" concept. I would like to request further strengthening of the relationship between Japan and Canada."
