The Dubai Health Authority and the Higher Colleges of Technology Complex signed a Memorandum of Understanding to provide the health sector with qualified, scientifically and professionally qualified national competencies according to the highest academic and practical levels.

The memorandum was signed yesterday at the authority’s headquarters by the director general of the authority, Hamid Muhammad Al Qatami, and the general director of the Higher Colleges of Technology Complex, Dr. Abdul Latif Al Shamsi.

The memorandum contributes to empowering national students to engage in the labor market in various health specialties, and to preparing graduates who are qualified with the sciences, skills and competencies necessary to effectively contribute to meeting the needs of the authority and the health sector for health personnel.

The articles of the memorandum include knowledge exchange and utilization of the resources, capabilities and expertise available to both parties, in addition to participating in advisory committees for the curricula of various health specialties such as physical therapy, radiography, pharmacy, and others, to contribute to the development of academic and practical programs to provide students with the knowledge and skills that qualify them to work in the targeted jobs.

The memorandum also includes sponsoring and attracting talented and talented national students within the "Medicine and Science" program, which the authority implements with the aim of employing them upon graduation, in a manner that meets the aspirations and aspirations of the health sector and its needs of distinguished cadres.

Al-Qutami confirmed that the authority has a clear policy of Emiratisation, supported by a set of advanced initiatives and programs that it implements to provide the health sector with distinguished medical cadres in all medical specialties, especially the subtle ones, and the specialties whose services are growing in demand.

The Director of the Higher Colleges of Technology Complex, Dr. Abdul Latif Al Shamsi, said that cooperation with the authority ensures that students are provided with the required skills and knowledge, indicating the importance of attracting national competencies for this vital sector and empowering them at the level of its various fields and specializations.

He stressed the increase in student attraction in health sciences programs, pointing to the presence of 2,300 students studying in eight majors in health sciences, including nursing, emergency medicine, pharmacy, medical laboratories, medical radiology, health information systems, veterinary sciences, and social service.
