SVT Nyheter Sörmland has been in contact with all municipalities in Sörmland to ask whether the statistics for the municipal schools will be available to the municipal citizens.

Gnesta

- We have not taken a position on whether we ourselves will publish the statistics.

On the other hand, we will of course provide the information we have the opportunity to produce on request, says Erika Isaksson, strategist at the children and education administration in Gnesta municipality.

However, she would like to draw everyone's attention to being aware that the information produced by municipalities and other school principals themselves can never fully correspond to the information assured by Statistics Sweden and thus comparable information that has so far been published by the National Agency for Education.

Eskilstuna

Already today, the so-called Compare service is available on the municipality's website, where citizens can, among other things, compare all preschools and schools, both municipal and independent.

- In mid-September, we will discuss the committees if this service is to remain.

I am convinced that we will continue to do so.

Then we will start a dialogue with the independent units to ask if they want to continue to be involved, says Thomas Åkerblom, quality manager at Eskilstuna municipality.

Flen

Kerstin Gelfgren, operations manager for preschool, primary and secondary school in the municipality of Flen, believes that the result of the new privacy policy is a temporary problem and she believes in a change already in 2020.

- My opinion is that there must be transparency in this.

We will monitor the issue and take a position on how we should do it.

This is an issue on the agenda, but we have not yet found a solution for how to deal with it at the municipal level.

Vingåker

There is information about each preschool and school on the municipality's website.

For example, about how large the groups of children are and what the grades look like.

This will continue to be published, but whether the possibility of comparison will exist is not yet discussed.

- We have not discussed whether we should offer citizens to be able to compare schools with each other, but that question will be raised, says Anders Danielsson, head of administration at the children and education administration in Vingåker municipality.

Strängnäs

Like many other municipalities, Strängnäs is downloading statistics from the National Agency for Education's website.

This is to be able to make comparisons backwards.

- We also have conversations with the independents in our municipality about how we can rethink to compare statistics between us.

We have decided not to publish more data than what exists today, as not all schools in the municipality can be published, writes Tony Lööw, head of administration at the children and education administration in Strängnäs municipality, in an email.

Panties

- The effect of this is unfortunate and all actors think so, regardless of whether it is municipal or independent.

You have to find a solution and I think there will be one, says Trosa's school principal Mats Larsson.

He refers to the National Agency for Education's report, which is to be submitted to the government on Friday with an impact assessment of the new secrecy policy and continues:

- Somehow we want to show our school results.

Today we link to the National Agency for Education but now we have to post our own figures.

But we will wait and see if it is possible to get the central figures in the future as well.

Katrineholm

- We have been given an investigative task to investigate how to behave in the current situation.

Before we change our routines, we will investigate with the National Agency for Education and possibly the Ministry of Education whether there is a change in legislation or what will happen in the future, says Jörgen Rüdeberg, Deputy Head of Administration in Katrineholm Municipality and continues:

- As we look at it right now, we will continue to report our results on a term basis.

Oxelösund

- We are building a new website and it will contain certain parts of our results, but I can not say exactly what.

We will also investigate whether we can make it possible for parents to compare schools.

In that case, it will not be to the same extent as at the National Agency for Education, but certain parts, says Eva Svensson, head of education in Oxelösund municipality.

For her, just as for all other municipal employees SVT spoke to, the news of the removed school statistics has been negative.

- I think that this information was very good and useful in different contexts so I think it is very sad that it disappears.

It is a service we will miss because you could develop your school by comparing with others, she says.

Nyköping

When the article is published, Nyköping Municipality has not yet submitted a response.
