This year’s No. 9 typhoon "Mesak" has strengthened from a strong typhoon to a super typhoon at 5 o'clock on the 1st. At 8 o'clock in the morning, its center is located on the southeast sea of the East China Sea about 780 kilometers south of Jeju Island, South Korea. There are 16 strongest winds nearby, making it the strongest typhoon in the Northwest Pacific this year.
It is expected that "Mesaac" will move in the northeast of the East China Sea on the night of September 1, and the speed will gradually increase towards the south of the Korean Peninsula.
Affected by the super typhoon "Mesaq", it is expected that from noon on September 1st to noon on September 2nd, there will be 8 to 12 meters of violent waves in the eastern part of the East China Sea to the stormy area, and 4-7 meters in the western part of the East China Sea and the waters near the Diaoyu Islands. There will be large waves of 2.5 to 4 meters in the coastal waters of Zhejiang, and medium to large waves of 2 to 3.4 meters in the coastal waters of Shanghai.
In terms of storm surges, due to the impact of typhoons, the Shanghai Luchaogang, Zhejiang Zhenhai and Zhoushan tide stations will have high tides reaching local yellow warning tides around the early morning of the 2nd.
The storm surge warning levels in Shanghai, Ningbo, Zhejiang and Zhoushan are yellow, and the storm surge warning levels in Jiaxing, Shaoxing, and Taizhou are blue.
Experts from the National Ocean Forecasting Station said that at present, the above-mentioned shore section is in the astronomical tide period. Coastal governments and relevant departments are requested to make emergency preparations for storm surge protection, and organize fishing boats, fish farms, and farms to do defense work.
