On Monday evening, a fire ravaged part of an abandoned hangar in Pérenchies, near Lille, in the North.
The firefighters intervened to extinguish the flames discovered the body of a woman in the rubble, we learned from the SDIS du Nord.
The fire broke out around 11 p.m., on the night of Monday to Tuesday, in a warehouse with a total surface area of 1,000 m2.
The intervention of fifty firefighters made it possible to limit the incident to just under half of the building.
A deceased woman and an injured man
After having brought the fire under control, the firefighters scouted the area.
It was then that they discovered the charred corpse of a woman in her forties.
According to the SDIS, no other victim is to be deplored.
The same source specifies that the place is known to be squatted by homeless people.
A police source told AFP that a man aged around 40 was also taken care of at the scene of the disaster for minor injuries.
An investigation has been opened.
