The work with sampling, infection tracking and infection control is now judged to be able to be carried out within the regular operations.

- Now we are entering another phase and have therefore decided to leave the staff situation, says Mikael Köhler, director of health and medical care in the Uppsala region.

A survey conducted by SVT shows that 14 of the country's 21 regions have now left their staff positions and returned to normal readiness.

- We no longer need to handle the corona pandemic as a special event, says care director Jessica Frisk, in the Östergötland region.

Must be able to make quick decisions

When the situation was at its most difficult, all regions had increased preparedness.

Everyone has been in staff mode at some point during the spring, the first step.

Several went into reinforcement mode and the Stockholm region even considered disaster mode.

So far, however, no one had to go.

The purpose of the emergency situations is, among other things, to be able to make quick decisions and create more care places.

Have readiness

Today, seven regions are still in staff mode, but none in reinforcement mode.

The situation has significantly improved compared to this spring.

In the Uppsala region, for example, at most over 125 patients were treated at the same time for covid-19, today it is just over 10.

However, several regions point out that the situation can change quickly and that they are prepared to change again.

- The danger of covid-19 is definitely not over, says Mikael Köhler, director of health and medical care in the Uppsala region.
