“The United States itself should refrain from interfering in the internal affairs of this country and treat what is happening there as circumstances in which our Belarusian allies and neighbors are able to figure it out on their own,” the diplomat said.

As Ryabkov stressed, this is not the first and not the last time when it comes to "sanctions threats."

“We are convinced again and again that there is nothing left in the American foreign policy toolbox but sanctions,” he added.

He expressed regret that "the primitivization of the American foreign policy is taking place."

“And there is only one answer to any question, to any problem - sanctions,” he said.

Earlier, Reuters, referring to an anonymous official from the United States, wrote that the American side does not exclude the imposition of sanctions against Russia if it "openly interferes in the affairs of Belarus with the use of force."

In addition, the United States is considering sanctions against seven Belarusian citizens who, according to Washington, are involved in "falsification of the presidential elections" and "ill-treatment of peaceful protesters."
