After more than 30 burglary cases in Västerbotten County since 10 August, anger is growing among county residents, who have begun to act to stop the theft.

In groups on social media, tips about the thieves' methods are spread, but also pictures of suspicious cars, mainly foreign-registered vans.

The police have previously called for observations of a dark van in connection with the burglaries.

- I understand that the police do not have time to check every single person so then the group can help a lot, says Micke Eriksson who administers the group Tjuvkoll in Västerbotten.

Gets in many tips

And the tips fall in with the police.

- A lot of tips come in, some can be dismissed immediately.

But the tips are processed.

It is good that you get in touch and let us assess the value, says Lars Westermark, head of the local police area Skellefteå.

Do you see any risk of people taking photos, following and posting pictures of suspicious cars?

- No.

The important thing is that the pictures end up with the police, says Westermark.
