Unlike the two previous presidential elections where Alpha Condé himself announced his candidacy, this time it was a joint press release from his party, the Rassemblement du peuple de Guinée and the parties that support him, which announced it on the media. of state.

Alpha Condé will indeed be a candidate for his own succession as desired by his party's convention on August 5 and 6.

During this convention, all the speakers had said that President Condé had no equal and that no one could replace him.

They were eager to say that there was no alternative to President Alpha Condé.

In response to this solicitation, Alpha Condé had set conditions including, among others: "

if you want me to accept your proposal, you must commit to ensuring that the RPG, our party, becomes what it was before," a party that leaves no one behind.

 "

This is why the majority parties have submitted to the president a proposal for a pact for the application of this program.

And finally, still according to the press release, the Head of State acceded to the request of his supporters to be their candidate for the presidential election on October 18.
