"Oleg Orestovich Mironov has passed away ... He was the first constitutional ombudsman in the Russian Federation from 1998 to 2004," wrote the ombudsman Tatyana Moskalkova on her Instagram page.
She noted that Mironov helped many people and did a great job in legal education.
“My most sincere condolences to my wife Zoya Alekseevna, son, family and friends of Oleg Orestovich, everyone who knew and loved him,” added the Ombudsman.
On February 3, Russian health and social policy adviser Igor Gal and his wife died in South Ossetia's Tskhinvali.
