The Municipality of Abu Dhabi City informed «Emirates Today» that the concerned authorities that lead and manage everything related to the emerging «Corona» pandemic (Covid-19), have directed the reopening of swimming pools in residential buildings, in accordance with the precautionary and preventive measures that have been identified to prevent «Corona» .

The municipality has set 10 conditions for reopening the data pools, including the necessity of examining all workers and individuals returning to these facilities, preventing entry of any employee whose temperature exceeds 37.5 degrees, as well as the necessity to conduct "deep sterilization" operations for swimming pools before they are opened.

The list of 10 conditions also included the necessity to cover sunbeds and chairs with an additional layer, after use and after sterilization, and to replace this layer after each use, and not allow individuals to enter these facilities except after measuring the temperature, which should be 37.5 degrees Celsius, noting the importance of not increasing the period Individuals stay in the facilities for two hours, with the necessity to maintain the social separation distance between sun beds and chairs by no less than two meters, and to prevent the use of towels and public towels.

The municipality pointed out that the directive in this regard also includes the continued prevention of massage services, saunas and jacuzzis, in addition to prohibiting service outlets in swimming pools, such as (bars), provided that water parks, children's playgrounds and water slides remain closed as well until further notice.

The municipality warned against any complacency by the operators of swimming pools in the buildings regarding precautionary and preventive measures, noting that building swimming pools are subject to supervision and inspection by municipality inspectors.

She indicated that according to the insurance instructions set by Abu Dhabi Police, a safe fence must be placed around swimming pools in homes to prevent children from entering, and a non-slip floor should be constructed around the pools.
