Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Monday that he had invited an Emirati delegation to visit Israel.

He added that the invitation was delivered by his National Security Adviser Meir Bin Shabat, who is heading a delegation that includes senior Israeli officials in Abu Dhabi to finalize an agreement to establish direct relations between Israel and the UAE.

"We will welcome them on a red carpet, just as they welcomed us," Netanyahu told a news conference.

On Monday noon, the first Israeli plane landed at Abu Dhabi Airport in the first public flight between the two parties, carrying Israeli and American personalities and officials, and crossed over Saudi airspace with the permission of its authorities.

The plane took off from Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv with an Israeli-American delegation headed by Jared Kushner, son-in-law and advisor to US President Donald Trump, about three weeks after the announcement of an agreement to normalize relations between Israel and the UAE.

In addition to the American delegation, the plane carries an Israeli delegation headed by Bin Shabat, which includes about 20 officials close to Netanyahu.

In turn, the Israeli Ministry of Regional Cooperation said that the cooperation agreements between the UAE and Israel would generate initial revenues estimated at half a billion dollars.

The ministry said that the two sides are discussing the establishment of a joint industrial zone to be established on the border with Jordan, in addition to joint projects in the field of alternative energy, environment and agriculture in the desert.

For its part, the Israeli Ministry of Finance expected that the level of trade exchange between the two sides would start at two billion dollars and would rise later to six and a half billion dollars.
