The Kuwaiti Prosecution: 400 transactions were carried out with bribery in the case of the Bangladeshi MP

The Public Prosecution in Kuwait continued its investigations in the case of a Bengali lawmaker accused of money laundering and bribery, as it decided, yesterday, to release MPs Saadoun Hammad and Salah Khorshid, on bail of 10 thousand dinars each.

An informed source, according to Al-Qabas newspaper, said that the investigations with the two representatives continued for six continuous hours, starting at 9 am and ending at 3 in the afternoon, and they were interrogated about their relationship with the Bengali MP and the investigations that confirmed they received money from him in exchange for clearing transactions.

The source pointed out that the Public Prosecution confronted the two deputies with what the investigations brought about, that one of them received 50 thousand dinars in cash, while the other cleared 400 transactions in exchange for 370 thousand dinars, but the two MPs denied the charges against them.

In addition, the source confirmed that the investigations in this case were completed through the number of defendants whose names are mentioned in the case, but new names may be mentioned in the investigations.

The source added, "During the past few days, the Bangladeshi MP was summoned and asked again about a former deputy and a businessman and his relationship with them, both of whom were previously released, which indicates that investigations are continuing for the last moment and to uncover all collaborators with the Bangladeshi MP."

It is noteworthy that Kuwaiti security arrested the Bengali MP last June, and the Public Prosecution charged him with three charges, which are "human trafficking and residence, money laundering, and bribes", in a corruption case involving officers and prominent personalities in Kuwait.
