This is reported by TASS with reference to the National Center for Defense Management of Russia.

According to the ministry, on August 31, Russian airspace control facilities over the neutral waters of the Baltic Sea detected three air targets approaching the Russian state border.

It is noted that in order to identify them, three Su-27s from the Baltic Fleet air defense forces on duty were taken into the air.

"The crews of the Russian fighters have identified the aerial targets as strategic bombers B-52H of the US Air Force," - said in a statement.

Earlier, the Russian Su-27 fighter flew to intercept aircraft from Germany, Sweden and Denmark over the Baltic Sea.
