Francisco Granados asks the National Court to take a statement as investigated Rafael Simancas, deputy and former leader of the PSOE of Madrid for the bribes paid to his mayors by the builder David Marjaliza.

The former general secretary of the Madrid PP has submitted a letter to the Court of Instruction number 6, which instructs the so-called 'Punic Operation', in which he requests the imputation of Simancas as the head of the PSOE of Madrid during the years in which Marjaliza he wrote in the B accounts of his companies that he paid at least 970,290 euros in black to high-ranking socialist officials, as revealed by EL MUNDO.

Granados, the main defendant in 'Púnica', also requests Judge Manuel García Castellón the statement as investigated of all the members of the PSOE that appear in the papers of the 'box B' of the constructor. Among them, Antonio Fernández, former socialist mayor of Pinto between 1995 and 2000; Tomás Gómez, who was the first mayor of Parla between 1999 and 2008; José María Fraile, who replaced Gómez in the Parla Consistory and was mayor of the municipality until 2014, as well as his chief of staff in the Mayor's Office, Antonio Borrego; José Antonio Alonso Conesa, former deputy and former mayor of Cartagena for the PSOE; o Lorenzo Sánchez, former PSOE spokesman in Aranjuez. At the same time Granados asks the judge to appear all the partners of Marjaliza in the companies that paid commissions to the socialist leaders.

The initiative of who was one of Esperanza Aguirre's most trusted men in the Community of Madrid, legally articulated by her lawyer Javier Vasallo, takes place after Marjaliza, the main repentant of the case, ratified last July before the instructor of 'Punic' the payment of bribes to prominent members of the PSOE of Madrid in exchange for obtaining urban planning licenses.

According to the documentation provided by Marjaliza, their companies also paid illegal commissions to IU for an amount of 15,025 euros and to the PP for a value of 105,489 euros. These payments, as specified by the businessman himself, were made between 1999 and 2002 in exchange for important urban planning awards in the Madrid municipalities of Pinto, Parla, Valdemoro and Aranjuez.

In parallel, Granados asks the judge to declare the lack of legitimacy of the PSOE to hold the popular accusation in the 'Punic case' since, according to Marjaliza himself, it was illegally financed by his companies. The former "popular" high-ranking official underlines in his writing that "until now the Public Prosecutor's Office has not questioned anything that was contributed, expressed or maintained" by the builder in his "stellar appearances." Therefore, he requests that the payments to the PSOE be granted the same veracity as the rest of the accusations he has made.

The defense of Granados emphasizes that despite the latest accusations made by the builder, which has been endorsed with abundant documentary support, the Prosecutor's Office has not acted ex officio as it usually does when those involved are from the PP. "Any type of action has been missed, as the Public Ministry is obliged, to clarify the commission of these crimes," he adds. "If what Marjaliza says and contributes is 'word of God', in terms of strict defense, right now it must also have that consideration to proceed with the investigation of the facts related to the PSOE".

According to Granados' defense, it is a "very serious" fact that Marjaliza's revelations that implicate the socialists go "unnoticed." "Why? What is the criterion? That it has no implication in the Granados bites and, therefore, is of no interest?" Asks his lawyer Vasallo rhetorically.

"There are already many data, the people involved and the evidence that will have to be practiced against a party that seems to be involved to the core in this macro cause," he added.
