China News Service, August 31. According to AFP reports on the 31st, Lebanese President Michel Aoun appointed Mustafa Adib, the country’s ambassador to Germany, as the new Lebanese Prime Minister.

  According to data, Adib is 48 years old and was born in Tripoli, a city in northern Lebanon. He has a doctorate in law and political science. He has taught in universities in Lebanon and France and has been Lebanese ambassador to Germany since 2013.

  Agence France-Presse reported that Adib vowed to quickly form a reform-oriented government. Prior to this, Adib was recommended by four former Lebanese prime ministers including Saad Hariri to be the next prime minister.

  On August 4, local time, a violent explosion occurred in the port area of ​​Beirut, Lebanon, causing thousands of casualties and making 300,000 people homeless. After the explosion, large-scale demonstrations in Beirut continued to protest against the explosion and corruption of the authorities.

  On August 10, Lebanese Prime Minister Diab announced the collective resignation of the government in response to popular calls. Lebanese President Aoun accepted his resignation, but asked the government to stay in office temporarily until the new government formed a cabinet.

  According to previous reports, once confirmed by the National Assembly as the new prime minister, Adib will lead the formation of the cabinet. Before the formation of the new government was completed, Diab continued to serve as the prime minister of the caretaker government.
