A couple died in the fire in their apartment this Friday evening, in Le Havre. Following this tragedy, a 36-year-old woman was taken into custody overnight from Friday to Saturday, reports Paris-Normandy. She was indictedfor destruction of property by fire resulting in death.

"Actively wanted, she was arrested Saturday at 2 am as she passed near the building," said the public prosecutor. When questioned, she finally admitted the facts. "However, his explanations on the origin of his gesture remained particularly vague," said the magistrate in a statement.

According to the magistrate, the fire "started in an apartment located on the 2nd floor where the tenant would have voluntarily set fire to a pile of laundry before leaving the premises". Placed in pre-trial detention pending trial, the 30-year-old faces life imprisonment.

This Friday, 52 firefighters and 26 devices were dispatched to extinguish the outbreak of fire. The fire hit a half-timbered building, a former hotel rehabilitated into apartments.
