The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation confirmed that employers are obligated to report the emergence of any cases showing symptoms of infection with the emerging "Corona" virus, or those suspected of being infected with it, and to adhere to the application of health conditions and controls issued by the competent authorities in the matter of those who deliver goods and services to customers. That the provision of preventive supplies for assistive workers is subject to the responsibility of the sponsor, whether the head of the family or the employer.

The sponsors, heads of households and employers, called for the necessity to adhere to the provision of preventive supplies, protective equipment, and health and professional safety for assistive workers, in order to ensure that they are not infected with the new Corona virus (Covid-19) and that it is not transmitted to family members.

In awareness messages recently launched on its official pages on social media platforms, the Ministry affirmed its keenness to continue carrying out field visits at the state level in partnership with the relevant federal and local government agencies, to ensure adequate physical space in workplaces, housing and workers' transport buses, in accordance with the precautionary measures stipulated.

Until the middle of this year, more than 600 field inspection visits were carried out to follow up on the commitment of private sector establishments to apply the precautionary measures stipulated in the National Program to Support Labor Market Stability, which was launched by the Ministry at the end of last March in coordination with the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority, within a series Preventive measures taken at the state level to confront the emerging corona virus and limit its spread, in a manner that ensures the continuity of business performance.

The Ministry confirmed that the field visits were also aimed at educating employers and workers of the need to adhere to preventive measures against the Coronavirus, within the framework of the awareness plan that the ministry broadcasts, especially from its website, its smart application and its accounts on social media platforms.

And she called for the importance of continuing commitment to observing the mechanisms of organizing travel trips from workers' housing to work areas and vice versa, taking into account not to increase workers inside the means of transport to 25% of its absorptive capacity.

The ministry stressed the importance of having checkpoints at the workers ’residence where temperature tests are conducted and questions about symptoms of the virus are conducted in the morning before going to work and in the evening after returning.

The Ministry required private sector establishments to report cases of workers who show symptoms of the virus or suspected of being infected with it, and to abide by the application of health conditions and controls issued by the competent authorities regarding those responsible for delivering goods and services to customers.

Implementation of precautionary measures

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation stressed the importance of implementing the precautionary measures that oblige private sector establishments to reduce the number of workers, so that the percentage of those whose work requires presence in the workplace does not exceed 30% of the total employees of the same establishment, as well as reducing the percentage of dealers in service delivery centers by no more than Over 30% of the absorptive capacity, with the exception of establishments operating in a number of activities that include: infrastructure projects, catering, communications, energy, health, education, banking, food and hospitality industries, manufacturing health supplies, and cleaning companies.
