If the last submissions go as planned, a total of thirty-six applications will have been submitted. Among them, well-known figures in Ivorian politics such as Alassane Ouattara, of course, Henri Konan Bedié or Pascal Affi N'Guessan, but many "small candidates" are also trying their luck.

In addition, two candidatures are particularly expected this Monday, August 31, before the closing, those of Laurent Gbagbo, in the morning, and of Guillaume Soro, later in the afternoon.

The two men are technically removed from the electoral rolls and have lost their civil rights . Thus, they are normally not allowed to show up. Their lawyers and supporters consider these unjust and political decisions. As such, they decided to go to the end, well aware nevertheless that these files will most certainly be refused by the Independent Electoral Commission.

These two deposits should be supported by processions of supporters of the two aspiring candidates, despite bans on public gatherings until mid-September, which the other candidates were nevertheless allowed to do in proportion. reasonable.
