A 40-year-old man from La Puebla del Río (Seville) has died on a farm in the municipality of Azuaga (Badajoz) after his son, a minor, apparently fired a fortuitous shot, sources have informed Efe of the Civil Guard.

Although the first investigations point to a hunting accident, the aforementioned sources have remarked, members of this armed institute have opened an investigation to clarify the facts.

The event occurred on Saturday afternoon on a farm in the Badajoz town of Azuaga, close to the province of Córdoba.

Father and son had traveled from the Sevillian town of La Puebla del Río to hunt coinciding with the half-season that, in general, began on August 15 in Extremadura and ends on September 8.
