A Yemeni government source confirmed to Al Jazeera that experts of European nationalities - most of them Ukrainians - had arrived in the Socotra Archipelago during the past two weeks.

The source pointed out that a private Emirati plane flew four flights during the month of August, and transported Emirati military experts and officers to the archipelago.

He added that the UAE is working to build a large military base west of Socotra and in a strategic area that overlooks the islands of the western archipelago, and is also working to establish a camp in the eastern part of the archipelago.

The source said that "at a time when the UAE, through its tools, impedes the acceleration of the implementation of the Riyadh agreement, it is urgently establishing a Qattainan base west of Socotra and another camp in the eastern part" of the archipelago.

The source also held the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia fully responsible for the UAE's activities in the Socotra Archipelago.
