The Communists intend to weigh in 2022, affirmed Saturday their number one Fabien Roussel during the summer day of the party in Malo-les-Bains (North), in a warning in particular to rebellious and environmentalists.

"Each political force justifies its candidacy", observed in a speech the national secretary: some "thinking that ecology is the center of everything, others thinking that they are legitimate compared to their last results in the presidential elections ", and" others saying we need a unique candidate at all costs regardless of the program. "

"If all these think that as in 2017 and 2012, the Communist Party will not present a candidate, I say to everyone: you are wrong", launched the deputy of the North in front of 500 militants and sympathizers and in the presence of Jean-Luc Mélenchon.

Fabien Roussel called on the left for dialogue and for the constitution of a "Popular Front of the 21st century, for people and the climate". Mr. Mélenchon praised on Twitter a "wide and deep convergence with the developed program".

Communists and rebels wish to continue the rapprochement initiated during the municipal elections during the departmental and regional elections in early 2021.

Mr. Roussel recalled that the road to the presidential election will be marked by a PCF congress in June 2021.

This summer day is an important meeting for the Communists, deprived in September of their great celebration of Huma in its traditional form and of the festivities linked to the 100 years of the creation of the party, which "will take place" offline, said Fabien Roussel.

To fight the coronavirus, he is in favor of wearing the compulsory mask, but according to him "we must create the conditions for it to be free for all".

The national secretary has set youth as a "back-to-school priority", targeting "750,000 young graduates entering the labor market".

"Every young person with a diploma must have a job and a salary that allows them to live with dignity," he said, while the economic and social prospects are bleak.

The PCF organized a mobilization on October 10 for a "moratorium on dismissals", including rallies in front of the prefectures. It is also on this occasion to "hold the state to account for the use of public money" by companies, according to the manager, who observes a certain "fatalism" among employees.

Mr. Roussel, who participated on Saturday with Philippe Martinez, secretary general of the CGT, in a debate on production methods, also called for joining the inter-union mobilization scheduled for September 17 on the issue of employment.
