Protests continued today, Saturday, in the city of Kenosha, Wisconsin, to demand racial equality and criminal justice, for the sixth consecutive day, amid a security alert to prevent renewed confrontations and violence.

A march in which dozens of protesters - most of them white - roamed the streets of Kenosha before stopping in front of the municipality building, and the demonstrators demanded justice for the black citizen Jacob Blake, who was wounded last Sunday by a white policeman's bullets.

The demonstrators also chanted slogans such as "No justice, no peace," and "Black souls matter," without riots or violence, while a tense calm reigns in the city center, which includes a courtroom and a park, which was the center of loud protests recently.

The Al-Jazeera correspondent from Kenosha said that it is possible that the gathering will turn into a big march today, as the organizers of the "Black Lives Matter" movement are planning a rally today in Kenosha, while the National Guard units prepared to prevent the renewal of unrest that rocked the city days ago.

On Thursday evening, Washington, DC, witnessed a massive anti-racism demonstration, during which Blake's relatives spoke, as well as the family of George Floyd, who had been killed by police weeks earlier, causing widespread protests.

While President Donald Trump described those who demonstrated during his speech accepting his candidacy for the presidency as "thugs", Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden considered that the killings and violence against black Americans in the 1960s are renewed today.
