The US President’s son-in-law and advisor, Jared Kushner, is scheduled to arrive at a later time in the Middle East, in order to pressure many Arab leaders to attend the signing ceremony for normalization between the UAE and Israel, which will be hosted by the White House.

CNN reported that the goal of Trump's son-in-law's trip to the region is "to herald a rare achievement in foreign policy, and to help boost Donald Trump's chances of winning the presidential elections scheduled for next November."

The UAE and Israel recently announced a complete normalization of their relations, mediated by US President Donald Trump.

In recent days, Abu Dhabi has received Israeli officials and politicians, and its Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

CNN quoted diplomats and members of Congress as saying that the president's son-in-law is courting several Arab leaders in order to push them to attend the ceremony, and that this goal is part of his mission's agenda in the region.

Official sources indicated that among those concerned are the leaders of Egypt, Jordan, Bahrain and Oman. She added that some of these countries are studying the possibility of attending the ceremony and who will represent it.

Earlier, Netanyahu said that an Israeli delegation would travel to Abu Dhabi on Monday, accompanied by senior aides to the US President, for talks on strengthening the normalization agreement with the UAE.

The Israeli prime minister added that Kushner and the US envoy to the Middle East Avi Berkowitz will participate in the delegation headed by Meir Ben Shabat, Netanyahu's national security advisor.

On the other hand, the Israeli "Kan" TV channel said that the delegation would head directly from Tel Aviv to Abu Dhabi on an Israeli plane.

The road to normalization, and
the Trump administration is engaged in pressuring Arab countries to normalize relations with Israel, which occupies Arab lands, and refuses to establish a Palestinian state on the 1967 borders.

Trump expected that Arab countries would follow Abu Dhabi and establish full relations with Tel Aviv, and Western reports speak that Saudi Arabia and other countries are about to take similar steps.

In light of normalization, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo recently visited Israel, Sudan, Bahrain and the UAE.

The US State Department announced that "deepening Sudanese-Israeli relations" is among the goals of the minister's visit to Khartoum last Tuesday.

However, the head of the Sudanese transitional government, Abdullah Hamdok, explained to the American guest that his government “does not have a mandate” to take a decision on normalization with Israel, and that its mission is “specific” to complete the transitional process leading to elections.

CNN reported that Trump's approach to the Middle East is not based on focusing on bringing about peace between the Israelis and the Palestinians, but rather aims to create a "random" regional alliance against Iran.

According to American and foreign officials, the president's son-in-law will address several Arab leaders that creating an alliance against Iran is their best bet, and that this alliance will serve as an "effective insurance policy" if the Democratic candidate, Joe Biden, manages to win the US presidential elections scheduled for November.
