Invited to react to the generalization of the wearing of a mask in many cities, Jean-Luc Mélenchon, leader of rebellious France, denounced the lack of clarity of the government's health policy. He believes that the crisis is "managed on a small scale".

More and more cities impose the wearing of the compulsory mask everywhere in the streets. After Paris on Friday, it is Strasbourg's turn, from Saturday morning, to generalize its use in its territory. For Jean-Luc Mélenchon, president of the France Insoumise group in the National Assembly, this reversal of health policy, after the implementation of very localized port obligations, generates a lot of misunderstanding.

"They created a mess. Everyone must put it, in one street yes, in another no ... nobody understands anything", lambasted the deputy on Friday during a trip to Haubourdin, near Lille, in bedside Cargill workers, targeted by a layoff plan. "The government has created confusion, doubt. Millions of people don't know what to do anymore."

"The French don't want us to make fun of them"

In his eyes, the changes in instructions betray the authorities' panic at the epidemic ebb. "This epidemic and managed on a small-scale, it's not serious," laments Jean-Luc Mélenchon. "The French want to be disciplined, but they don't want to be made fun of."

Before qualifying: "Putting a mask on your face is perhaps useless but not to put it on would be to take a risk. I therefore recommend respecting sanitary discipline."
