"The Chamber of Deputies approved this Friday a resolution that authorizes the President of the Republic, Luis Abinadera Corona, to extend the state of emergency throughout the country for 45 days," RIA Novosti quoted the legislative body as saying.

It is noted that the extension of the emergency regime will be counted from September 3.

The President is given special powers to eliminate the threat to the country.
