“During the meeting, issues of Russian-American cooperation in the Arctic, including within the framework of the Arctic Council (AC), were considered. The central role of the AU in shaping a constructive agenda in the Arctic region was noted, ”the statement on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

The Russian side stands for the all-round strengthening of multilateral cooperation in the north. In addition, during the talks, the sides noted the importance of maintaining the “depoliticized nature of cooperation within the AU”.

"Some issues of Russian-American interaction on a number of regional topics were discussed," the Foreign Ministry added.
