Marseille regaining the competition, Paris SG still exempt, Eduardo Camavinga at work with Rennes before joining the Blues ... Ligue 1 resumes its habits this weekend for the second day, still threatened by the pandemic but marked by a single postponement.

. The team: Marseille

Olympique de Marseille can finally start their season, after seeing their first match against Saint-Etienne postponed to the previous week because of several cases of Covid-19.

The dolphin of Paris SG last season finds Sunday in Brest (9:00 p.m.) the competition after a truncated preparation. With measured ambitions for coach André Villas Boas, who remained at the head of the Olympian squad after a long soap opera with his leaders.

"It is impossible to play for the title in Ligue 1. There is too much economic gap with the others, it is difficult to fight. We want to stay in the qualifying places for the Champions League," said Friday the Portuguese at a press conference, satisfied to have seen the contracts of Dimitri Payet and Steve Mandanda extended, and the arrivals of several players (Pape Gueye, Leonardo Balerdi ...) validated.

. The player: Camavinga

Eduardo Camavinga never stops talking about him. Embarrassed by an adductor injury this summer, the young Rennes midfielder (17) was already the strongman of the Bretons' first match in Lille (1-1) after coming into play.

And Thursday, he learned of his summons with the France team, which he will join on Monday for the two meetings of the League of Nations in Sweden and against Croatia (September 5 and 8). He could become the first miner to obtain a selection in Blue since the Second World War.

The young nugget reacted soberly by posting on Twitter a photo of him wearing the jersey of the hopes, accompanied by two French flags.

Is it too early to break through with the Blues? "The future will tell. But it was not too early for him to play in Ligue 1 at 16 and a half," his coach Julien Stéphan said on Friday.

Before joining Clairefontaine, the midfielder has a meeting to play with his club on Saturday against Montpellier (5:00 p.m.), which is playing its first match of the season.

. The number: nine

Nine, like the number of meetings that the League hopes at all costs to see played this weekend despite the Covid-19.

After a first day cut off from three meetings, those of Paris SG and Lyon due to qualification in the Champions League and that of Marseille, affected by several cases of Covid, the second day is for the moment almost complete.

Only the Lens-PSG match was postponed to September 10 at the request of the Parisian club, just back from Lisbon where he played in the Champions League final against Bayern Munich (1-0 defeat).

For the nine other meetings, vigilance is required, especially for Brest-Marseille because of the health situation of the Marseille club. But for the moment, the game is on, and the schedule does not look set to become even more crowded.
