Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden tweeted extensively as Donald Trump delivered his speech, after being formally nominated as the Republican presidential candidate.

Both politicians focused on the corona pandemic.

"Donald Trump calls himself a president of wartime. But instead of leading the fight against the virus, he has waved a white flag ", is one of several comments Joe Biden published on his twitter account.

Biden also criticized Donald Trump for driving the economy to the ground, his plans to build a wall against Mexico and the handling of the protests that have spread in the country, including in connection with the fatal shootings of several black men.

"He himself is responsible for the chaos in our country," writes Joe Biden.

"More important than American life"

Biden's vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris also criticized Donald Trump's handling of the coronavirus. Harris tweeted out Trump's quote that his administration focuses on "science, facts and data" along with a picture of a crowd outside the White House where Trump gave the speech.

"Let us be clear: in the beginning, Trump was convinced that if his administration focused on the virus, it would harm the market and his chances of being re-elected. "It was more important to him than saving American lives," Harris tweeted.
