The Department of Education and Knowledge has added the Spanish curriculum within the approved curricula in the emirate of Abu Dhabi, by opening the first private school that introduces the Spanish curriculum in the emirate, which will start receiving students at the beginning of the new academic year next Sunday, and thus the department raises the number of educational curricula in the emirate to 15.

In detail, the Spanish School in Abu Dhabi announced the start of providing services in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi to kindergarten students until the second grade of the academic year 2021, noting that all teachers are Spanish-speaking, while the school will provide, in addition to the Spanish curriculum, Arabic, English, and Islamic education courses.

The school indicated that the Spanish curriculum focuses on mastering speaking, understanding, reading and writing, as the curriculum is regularly reviewed to ensure it keeps pace with new research and methods of teaching and learning around the world, pointing to its adoption during the first semester of the new academic year the full-time model, where all will attend Classroom students to receive direct education, while fully maintaining the Department of Education requirements and knowledge of the Back to School Policy.

For its part, the Department of Education and Knowledge affirmed that its endeavor to build a high-quality educational system in the emirate is based on encouraging innovation and excellence, and contributes to preparing students to face future challenges through programs that improve the educational process and its outputs from kindergarten to the end of secondary school.

She stressed that the private schools sector in Abu Dhabi is one of the most diverse sectors in educational curricula, as the department allows private schools the freedom to choose the educational curriculum that the school wishes to teach to its affiliated students, according to specific standards, requirements and procedures, taking into account the requirements and needs of the labor market.

She indicated that all foreign private schools have an obligation to teach the licensed curriculum on their part, in addition to teaching Arabic language, Islamic education, social studies and moral education, from the first to the tenth grade.
