A 43-year-old man, suspected of having killed another forty-something with a screwdriver in Vitry-sur-Seine, in Val-de-Marne, was indicted for murder and imprisoned on Wednesday. The suspect, a garbage collector by profession and only known to the courts for "old cases of non-regulatory dog ​​detention" according to the Créteil prosecutor's office, was taken into custody on Monday after surrendering himself to the police .

Last Thursday evening, the 40-year-old victim “was in his car when a man asked him to get out. They fought and he received a stab at the chest, ”a source close to the investigation said on Tuesday. "He tried to ride 150 meters but was the victim of discomfort following the assault" and died of cardio-respiratory arrest shortly after, she added.

The dispute had taken place that very morning

Several blows of a screwdriver were carried by the suspect, specified the parquet floor Thursday, indicating that the origin of the dispute goes back to the same morning, when a first altercation had opposed the two men. The victim would then have "gained the upper hand" and the defendant would have, according to his statements to the investigators, "felt humiliated", reported the prosecution. The two men, who live in the same city in Vitry, knew each other.

"He had kept a certain grudge" and therefore attacked the victim he met "by chance" in the evening while walking his dog, according to the prosecution. The weapon used was only in the pocket of the suspect "fortuitously", according to his statements to investigators.
