Recently, following in the footsteps of Wang Furu, the director of Shuiyu Village, the reporter came to the tombstone of Yu Chengbin, a hero from Henan. The tombstone is on the Haojiawa slope in the south of the village, one kilometer away from the village, facing east and west, in a quiet leeward place. The four characters "Spirit Immortal" on the tombstone can still make people feel the clank of the hero.

According to Wang Furu, the villagers know that there are heroes here, and the tombstones have been well guarded by the villagers. During the period of studying Dazhai in agriculture, Liu Pengshou, who was the captain of the third team of the village at the time, moved the tombstone 100 meters up the slope because of the need to borrow soil. When the Ching Ming Festival comes, there are always villagers to worship and sweep the tomb.

After careful cleaning, the detailed information recorded on the tombstone is well preserved. The bottom left corner of the tombstone records "Comrade Yu Chengbin was 48 years old, from Shangcheng County, Henan. He was a member of the Third Branch of the 385 Brigade Supply Division. This comrade joined the Red Army in 1929 and was an outstanding member of the Communist Party of China. Squad leader, platoon leader, secretary, section member and other positions. He has worked for the revolution for more than ten years. After the long march, he worked hard for the revolution and served the interests of the people every day. He was a model cadre. Unfortunately, he died of illness on January 25, 1944. It is the thought of all comrades." The lower right corner records "all comrades from the Supply Department of the 38th Brigade Respectfully Revised on May 31, 1945."

"He was sacrificed here for the revolution. No matter what, I will do my best to help him find relatives. Before we find them, the people in our village are his relatives." Liu Pengshou said.

Liu Pengshou, 72, dedicated his life to the village. He was the captain of the village brigade at the age of 23, the village director at the age of 31, and the village secretary at the age of 48. He has worked for more than 40 years. He has been in the ears and eyes of his fathers since he was a child, and he has respected revolutionary martyrs. In his home, the reporter also saw the cooking pot that was captured by the Japanese invaders at that time. The rusty iron pot was the best testimony to the history of the time. He said that although a lot of information was incomplete and it was difficult to find relatives, the whole village never gave up on finding relatives for the heroes.

During the trip, the reporter came to Li Changyi's home. Li Changyi, 89 years old this year, is a witness to those passionate years. According to the old population, Shuiyu Village is the permanent station of the 385 Brigade of the Eighth Route Army. In 1941, the village was bombed by Japanese invaders. The villagers covered the Eighth Route Army and concealed it in the Huling ditch 3 kilometers away from the village. In addition to the fog on the mountainside on a rainy day, the Japanese troops had to go back the same way, allowing the Eighth Route Army and the villagers stationed in the village to escape.

"The team stationed in the village was the 385 brigade and the 769 regiment. Their quality was very high and they were very close to the people." Li Changyi recalled that the villagers vacated their good houses for them, but they insisted on living in the villagers' idle houses. in. Wake up every morning, the Eighth Route Army cleaned the streets early, the water in the urn was always full, and the house was neatly cleaned.

Xiyang is an old revolutionary base area, an important part of the Taihang Revolutionary Base, and one of the earliest red bases opened by the Chinese Communist Party in its early activities and after the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War. "This year is the 80th anniversary of the Great War of Hundred Regiments. We hope to find the descendants of the heroic martyrs and tell them that the hero's achievements have not been forgotten." Zhao Xingdong, a relevant person from the Xiyang County Civil Affairs Bureau who participated in the family search activity, said that the revolution The martyrs should not be forgotten. Perhaps their descendants did not know that they slept in Shuiyu Village. I hope that the descendants or relatives of Yu Lao will have the opportunity to see him after seeing relevant reports.
