Rue du Maréchal Joffre in Nantes - S. Salom Gomis / SIPA

Wednesday evening did not go as planned for the manager of a Nantes bar on rue Joffre, pedestrianized for the summer. At around 8:45 p.m., this shopkeeper was attacked by a customer who had refused to wear a mask, police reported. The 44-year-old was reportedly hit in the face several times and his t-shirt was torn in the fight.

According to the police, this woman had tried to enter the bar twice without complying with the sanitary instructions. Before getting to the hands, she had gone to look for eggs that she had thrown on the terrace and the customers who were there.

The woman, drunk at the time of the incident, was arrested and taken into police custody. The manager of the establishment has indicated his intention to file a complaint.
