The American Bloomberg Agency revealed that the Saudi authorities have cut off contact between a number of the most prominent prisoners of conscience and their families. A report by the agency described this step as a new escalation that threatens Riyadh's relations with its Western allies.

The report quoted the families of some of the detainees their deep concern over the fate of their relatives in light of the Saudi government's refusal to comment on the matter.

The report stated that the detained human rights activist Loujain Al-Hathloul has not contacted her family since the ninth of June.

The website quoted sources confirming that Princess Basma Bint Saud, who was detained with her daughter, had not contacted her family since last April, while the son of the preacher, Salman Al-Odah, indicated that there had been no contact with his father since May 12.

The website quoted sources confirming that the Saudi authorities have submitted an indictment against Saleh Al-Haidar and Badr Al-Ibrahim, who both hold American citizenships.
