Saba Sahar was on her way to work when men opened fire on the vehicle carrying her. Her husband says he rushed to the scene of the shooting after receiving a call from his wife saying that she suffered abdominal injuries.

Aged 44, Saba Sahar is an actress and film director well known to Afghan audiences. A police officer by training, she works at the Afghan Ministry of the Interior while continuing to produce films, especially for television. His favorite subjects are corruption and justice. She is also one of the country's feminist voices.

Attacks against civil society figures have increased in the Afghan capital. Less than 10 days ago Fawzia Koofi, a women's rights activist and member of the Afghan negotiating team due to hold talks with the Taliban, was injured after men opened fire on her and her sister .

The peace activist and scientific director of the education ministry Abulbaqi Amin was killed in the explosion of his vehicle on which a bomb had been planted.

Human rights organizations are concerned about the increase in these targeted and unclaimed attacks. Some see it as an attempt to intimidate and weaken Afghan civil society ahead of the Taliban peace talks . Discussions delayed for several months due to differences between the two parties on the release of prisoners.
