The man has previously been convicted of fraud against a large number of women and was released in October last year. A few months later, he met a woman in Uppsala and they began a relationship - which lasted until the woman was told by friends what he had previously committed.

"She quickly read through the verdict and felt that the same thing had happened to her," the verdict reads.

The man had made her believe that he had good finances and was very generous, and then lived costly with her bank card. The woman was also persuaded to believe that her own purchases and expenses would be paid by the man.

According to the indictment, there were 248 purchases, a total of SEK 392,000, regarding, among other things, travel, hotel nights, dinners and the purchase of expensive designer clothes.

The man, who has been in custody since June, is now sentenced to one year in prison for gross fraud. He has always denied any wrongdoing.
