25 August 2020 The 62 Covid-19 positive migrants hosted to date at the Pozzallo hotspot, in the province of Ragusa, have been transferred. The mayor, Roberto Ammatuna, gives the news. "It is the result of a daily, continuous and confidential collaboration with the Ministry of the Interior and the prefecture of Ragusa - says Ammatuna - which testifies to how only institutional synergy can lead to quick results. My concern, expressed on every occasion and with all the means of communication, it has always been directed towards this particular aspect of the immigration problem - he continues -, certainly not towards the reception policy, which continues to be one of the fundamental ethical choices for this Administration. For this important result - he continues Ammatuna - I want to thank the Ministry of the Interior, the prefecture of Ragusa and all those who have spent to reach it. However, this does not mean that there are no problems in the management of migratory flows - concludes the mayor of Pozzallo - and I reiterate the need for the President Conte gives the issue the highest priority, involving the government in its entirety, Fr. giving a direct view of the existing difficulties in the municipalities affected by the phenomenon, perhaps listening to the mayors and local authorities who have a direct and complete vision of the problem ".
