Egypt: 141 new cases of Coronavirus and 18 deaths

The Egyptian Ministry of Health said, on Tuesday, that it had recorded 141 new cases of Coronavirus and 18 deaths, compared to 138 infections and 18 deaths on Monday.

"The total number that was registered in Egypt with the new Corona virus until Tuesday is 97,619 cases, including 67,717 cases that have been cured and 5298 deaths," Khaled Mujahid, a spokesman for the ministry, said in a statement.

In mid-March, Egypt imposed general isolation measures to combat the spread of the virus, including night curfews, banning large public gatherings, and closing restaurants, theaters and cinemas.

Most of these measures have been lifted since late June. With the general isolation restrictions gradually easing, Egypt maintains multiple preventive measures to combat the virus, including imposing the use of masks in public and closed places, public transportation, and maintaining social distancing.
