Dutch coach Ronald Koeman continues to work on determining the list of players he will rely on in his first season with Barcelona, and the turn comes today for striker Luis Suarez.
Radio Catalonia (RAC 1) reported that Koeman contacted Suárez by phone today, Monday, and explained that the call did not take long, during which the Dutch coach informed the Uruguay striker that he was not included in his calculations for the new season.
The source explained that the next step will be Barcelona's administration communicating with the player's representatives in order to reach an agreement to end the engagement of the two parties, noting that Suarez has a contract that will continue until the end of next season with the option to renew for an additional season.
Earlier reports said that Suarez, 33, was on the "black list" of players not wanted by Coman, and among the most prominent names on that list were Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquic.
Reports said that Suarez had received an offer to return to Ajax Amsterdam, with whom he participated between 2007 and 2011, and some sources said that the Barcelona administration may include Suarez as part of a deal to obtain the services of the Ajax player Van de Beek.
