There are 1,210 new infections from Sars-Cov-2 in Italy recorded in the last 24 hours. This was reported in the bulletin published on the website of the Ministry of Health. The increase thus brings total cases to 259,345 since the beginning of the epidemic. And the contagion curve continues to increase, after yesterday, with 1071 new cases, it was exceeded for the first time by the reopening post lockdown, a thousand in daily infections.

As of August 23, the total number of people who have contracted the coronavirus that causes Covid-19 is 259,345. The total number of positives currently stands at 18,438, an increase of 935 from yesterday. Among the currently positive, there are 69 (+5) being treated in intensive care. 971 people are hospitalized with symptoms, an increase of 47 patients compared to 22 August. 17,398 people are in isolation without symptoms or with mild symptoms.

Compared to the previous day, there are 7 new deceased and bring the total to 35,437. The overall number of discharged and healed rises to 205,470, an increase of 267 people compared to yesterday.

There are five regions that have now passed the hundred infected, with Lombardy returning to the top with 239 new cases, followed by Lazio with 184, from Veneto with 145, from Campania with 138 and from Emilia Romagna with 127. other regions, with 81 cases in Sardinia and 59 in Tuscany. The only region that today does not register infections is the Aosta Valley while in Molise there is one, 3 in the province of Trento and 5 in both Basilicata and Marche.

As for hospitalized patients with symptoms, Lazio continues to have the highest figure (286) with an increase of 21 compared to yesterday. Lombardy is stable with 148. Intensive care is more numerous in Lombardy (14) with Sicily in second place (10). 

Lombardy
Coronavirus cases in Lombardy continue to increase and today they have returned to exceed 200: in fact, 239 new positives with 13,663 swabs carried out. Yesterday there were 185 with 12,957 swabs. There are 4 new deaths for a total of 16,856 deaths in the region since the beginning of the pandemic. The admissions in intensive care (14) and in other wards (148) are stable. After yesterday's zero cases, 32 new cases are infected in Bergamo, while they continue to grow in Milan (89 of which 50 in Milan city) and Brescia (46). 

It is the fifth consecutive day with data on the rise in Lombardy, which have gone from 50 new cases on August 18 to 239 today. We have therefore returned to the growth levels of mid-June and we must return to June 17 to record higher growth, with 242 cases. From 19 June until yesterday, the infections had always remained under two hundred cases. In total, 98,316 people have been infected in Lombardy since the beginning of the pandemic.

Lazio
"Today in Lazio there are 184 cases and one death. Of these 60% are return links, while those with links from Sardinia decrease (35%)". This was announced by the Lazio Region Health Councilor, Alessio D'Amato, who adds: "Cases are decreasing compared to yesterday and it is even more significant given the record number of swabs performed in the last 24 hours". "We are ready for reciprocity with Sardinia to guarantee security which is the common goal. Any positive shipments in Sardinia must be transferred to the mainland in a protected manner". 

Veneto
There are 145 more cases of positive swab detected in Veneto in the last 24 hours according to the data provided by the Veneto Region. No new deaths, thus the pandemic deaths remain at 2,104. The subjects in isolation drop to -223 units. There are 104 more people, however, in home isolation.
