The interregional department of Rosprirodnadzor of Komi and the Nenets Autonomous Okrug, together with the Pechora interdistrict environmental prosecutor's office, began an inspection.
"If the contamination of the lands of the Komi forest fund is confirmed, the damage to nature will be calculated, and an administrative case will be initiated against the culprit," the department added.
On August 3, an oil spill occurred in the Usinsk region of Komi due to damage to the pressure pipeline.
