US presidential election: Joe Biden officially invested as Democratic candidate

Joe Biden has been officially invested as the Democratic presidential candidate in the United States. The convention of the Democratic Party ended this Wednesday evening with his inaugural speech. Joe Biden came out as a unifier, and called on Americans to turn the page on a dark period in history.

"  I accept this nomination  ". Officially invested, Joe Biden presented himself as a candidate for unity, the one who will allow America to turn its back on chaos. “  I will be an ally of the light and not of the darkness  ”, he launched.

He crushed the current occupant of the White House . And indicated that he would put America back on the right path, that of science to fight against the pandemic , and that of respect for standards in diplomacy. He has vowed that he will make the fight against the coronavirus his priority from day one of his arrival at the White House.

His supporters relieved

“  I will be a president who stands alongside our allies and I will be clear with our adversaries. The time for flirting with dictators is over  ”. After an evening devoted to portraying an empathetic man, attentive to everyone's needs,  the candidate gave his troops a solid speech.

He pleaded unity. “  This is our moment, this is our mission. The end of this dark chapter of America begins here tonight, with the love, hope, light joining in this battle for the soul of the nation. And this is a battle that we are going to win and we will do it together,  ”he concluded.

Joe Biden appeared combative, with a decided tone, far from the sweet candidate portrayed by Donald Trump . His supporters feared a poor performance. They can now breathe.
