A Lebanese media tweet summarized the scene of the funeral of Elias Khoury, 15, who died of wounds sustained by the Beirut port explosion on the 4th of this month, which left more than 170 dead.
Video footage documented moments of sad farewell to the 15-year-old boy, Elias Khoury, after his death from his wounds in the port explosion, and his schoolmates shared him with moving scenes that included launching balloons to honor his spirit.
Activists and tweeters interacted with the tag # Elias_ Khoury, and said that his departure will remain a curse that haunts officials and the corrupt.
Tweeters demanded a speedy and fair investigation into the explosion disaster and accountability for those responsible who caused the death of dozens, wounding and displacement of thousands.
