Alexei Navalny is a perfectly healthy 44-year-old man who does not suffer from any diseases. Therefore, Bert Sundström is doubtful that it is a coincidence that Navaljnyj suddenly falls ill, becomes unconscious and is now on a respirator.
- It may have happened that something random, but it is unlikely. There are a number of previous examples of opposition politicians, activists who have been poisoned in this way. But we do not know exactly, says Bert Sundström in Aktuellt on Thursday.
Revealed corruptionSundström says that Navaljnyj has revealed extremely large and serious corruption among Russia's rulers.
- This applies not only to politicians at the national level such as the former President and Prime Minister Medvedev, but also politicians at a more local level. This makes him extremely unpopular in those circles.
The Russian people "absorb" the information that Navalny reveals, Bert Sundström states.
- They know that the country is ruled by a very large number of people who are largely corrupt. Therefore, they really want to see the information that Navalny and his organization publish.
How has the Kremlin commented on what happened?
- Much like this: "So far we do not know what has happened. We wish him a speedy recovery and we are prepared to assist with help if he needs care abroad. We are not involved. "
But Sundström believes that a large part of the Russian people have the opposite opinion and tells what they think:
- There is no other explanation than that the state security service or someone connected to the power apparatus in the Kremlin is behind this. That it is a concrete assassination attempt, that they want to get Navaljnyj silenced.
