Refer senior officials in Saudi Arabia to fight corruption by royal order

Today, a Saudi royal order was issued to terminate the services of the Director General of the Border Guard and refer him to retirement, and to dismiss a number of officials from their posts, following what was received from the Royal Commission for Al-Ula Governorate, the Red Sea Company, and the Souda Development Company, regarding irregular encroachments on the Red Sea lands, The royal order stipulated that the Supervisory and Anti-Corruption Commission investigate all these officials.

The Saudi Press Agency reported that a royal order was issued based on what was reported by the Royal Commission for Al-Ula Governorate, the Red Sea Company, and the Souda Development Company, regarding the irregular encroachments on the lands of the Red Sea Project, which exceeded (5000) encroachments and exceeded dozens in the Al-Ula Governorate, as well as abuses in slums. And the camps that are not licensed by the Royal Commission for Al-Ula Governorate, the Red Sea Company, or the Soda Development Company, and since these violations are considered to be a violation of the system and constitute environmental damage, in addition to their great impact on the completion of projects and their plans, and given that it was found that these violations have been authorized for violations by some officials. This is considered an infringement of the authority or companies' jurisdiction.

According to the Saudi Press Agency, the royal order stipulated the following:
1 - Termination of the service of Lieutenant General Awad bin Eid bin Awdah Al-Balawi (Director General of the Border Guard) by referring him to retirement.
2- Exemption of the governors of: Umluj, Al-Wajh, and the head of the Soda Center.
3- Exemption of the commanders of the border guard sector in Umluj and Al Wajh.
4- Exemption of the person responsible for infringements, his deputy in the Ministry of Interior, and those responsible for infringements in the emirates (Medina, Tabuk, and Asir).
5- Exemption for the Mayor of Tabuk and mayors of: Umluj, Al-Wajh, and Al-Souda.
6- Exemption of the person responsible for infringements in the secretariats of the Medina and Tabuk regions.
7 - The Ministries of Interior, Municipal and Rural Affairs, and the Emirates of Madinah, Tabuk and Asir are given a one-month period from its date to remove all infringements, and very strict measures will be taken in the event of any further infringement after that.
8 - The Control and Anti-Corruption Commission shall immediately investigate all the officials referred to above about their responsibility for the above-mentioned infringements, and take legal action against them, and raise what is reached.
