Israeli Member of Parliament Eli Avidar - in his speech to the Knesset - praised the normalization agreement with the Emirates, and praised its leaders greatly, but was met with a tidal wave of ridicule, laughter and mockery from the members.

Avidar said in a speech in Arabic that Israel is currently suffering from a political crisis, but all sides in it welcomed the agreement with the Emirates, "because of the esteem enjoyed by the Crown Prince of the UAE, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan," as he put it.

This sentence sparked ridicule and some laughed, and when one of the Knesset members interrupted him, Avidar answered him, asking him to remain silent, to continue praising the Emirati move.

But he began enumerating some of the UAE’s roles, including “stopping the negative influence on the part of Turkey, and sometimes against the devastation distributed by Qatar, and most of the time against war and devastation on the part of Iran and its agents in the Middle East.”

He stressed that one of the gains of the normalization agreement with the Emirates is that it will "strengthen the front against Iran and its agents in the region," explaining that the Iranian goal "is not political, but religious, to change the way of life in the Gulf so that it becomes as is the case in Iran, where the people there suffer under the burden of religious policy." Extreme ".

After that, Avidar talked about the UAE's role in standing by Egypt, saying that it stood with it in sensitive times, especially when Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi came to power, and also stood with it during its crisis with former US President Barack Obama.

He said that the UAE had provided funds to alleviate the economic crisis, and had used all of its capabilities in Washington to help Egypt.

Amidst a great fanfare in a Knesset hall, one of the members interrupted him by saying that the UAE had taken a stand against the late Egyptian President Mohamed Anwar Sadat, to respond to Avidar in Egyptian colloquial, saying, "The UAE has forcibly stood by your religion alongside Egypt."

Before concluding, Avidar chose to give special advice to the Palestinians, saying: "I advise you. The people of the Emirates are different from the Israelis and the Americans, you are used to burning our flags every morning and your help in the afternoon. The people of the Emirates are different, they are Arab and have their dignity, they will not forget."

He added, "Your brothers who live in the Emirates will be expelled from under your head. Think once with logic." Then he concluded his speech by saying, "From here in Parliament, I sent a message of appreciation and welcome to the people of the Emirates and their leadership."
